Brazilian Jiu Jitsu No Gi
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu No Gi is a fast-paced, highly dynamic form of grappling practised without the traditional kimono. Without the fabric to grip, the game relies heavily on underhooks, overhooks, and wrestling-style control ties. It is a complete, practical grappling game that forms a critical component of modern MMA and submission grappling.

Our BJJ No Gi sessions are led by Dayman Lake, a BJJ Black Belt and professional fighter, whose MMA background gives these classes a highly practical, fight-applicable flavour. Sessions cover everything from standing takedowns and clinch control to the intricate no-gi submission game, including leg locks, Darce chokes, guillotines, and more.
These classes are popular with MMA practitioners looking to sharpen their grappling, with BJJ practitioners who want to improve their no-gi game, and with anyone who wants a physically demanding, technically rich workout that builds genuine functional fitness.
No Gi vs Gi
No-gi grappling is practised without the traditional BJJ kimono (gi). Without fabric to grip, the game becomes faster and more dynamic: grips shift to wrists, necks, and legs, and the scramble is much more prominent. Many practitioners train both, as each develops different skills that complement the other.
